Conference Dinner
Held on the evening of Saturday 24th March, the conference dinner will be a formal yet relaxed 3 course meal with wine and followed by coffee. We will dine in the refectory of the University of York's King's Manor, an elegant and historic building at the heart of the city centre. Formerly a monastery, King's Manor was enlarged and extended in the 16th century when it was the official residence of the President of the Council of the North, it became a popular stop over for the Stuarts en route from London to Edinburgh.

Declining towards the end of the 17th century, the Manor was leased as apartments and stagnated for over a century before being granted a new lease of life by the Yorkshire School for the Blind in 1833. When the school closed in 1958, the Manor was taken over by the council, who then leased it to the university in 1963, in whose hands it has since flourished.

We will be dining in the Refectory, formerly the council chamber, a beautiful atmospheric venue in which to eat, drink, and be merry with fellow Joyceans.

We hope to announce further events once they have been confirmed.
