The conference will take place entirely in the Berrick Saul Building on the University of York Campus.
There will be a limited number of on-campus B&B rooms available when you register for the conference online. These are available at a discounted rate, but you can also book rooms through the York conferences website.
Campus is approximately 30 mins walk, a 10 min bus journey, or a 5 minute taxi ride (usually no more than £5.00) from the city centre and nearby surrounds. There are any number of B&B's and hotels available for you to choose from, including a Travelodge, a number of Premier Inn's, and several Best Western hotels.
We can recommend Hotel 53, which is clean, elegant, modern, and ideally located in York city centre. The hotel is a University partner and you will therefore be eligible to a discount if you say that you are with the University of York when booking. Unfortunately, this does not apply on Friday or Saturday night. If you plan to stay on Thursday and/or Sunday night, then expect a per person per night cost of around £73.50; the prer person per night cost on Friday and Saturday will be around £95.00.
Here is a map showing the location of Hotel 53 and the Berrick Saul Building, in which the conference will be taking place. If booking other accommodation, use this map to give you a sense of how well placed your accommodation is in relation to the campus.

There are also a number of hostels available. Try sites such as hostelbookers or simply search "york hostel" for some results.
Spontaneous and unorganized evening activities will almost certainly be taking place in town, where enthusiasts may seek to test the urban myth that there are exactly 365 pubs or bars (a year's worth) within the square mile of York's city walls. Your choice of accommodation may well depend on whether you'd rather be close to campus in the morning, or your bed in the early morning.
